It features a durable outer body construction and has a clear view fuel gauge, for ease of gauging fuel. The CG-001 features a flip-top safety cover, for convenient, one-touch operation. It has a key ring latch for ease of operation. The lighter houses a piezoelectric ignition system, which is based on a pressurized molecular reaction, and requires no electric connection. Piezoelectric energy occurs when the trigger is activated, releasing a small, spring-loaded internal hammer that strikes a crystal, producing a spark and resulting in gas flame ignition.
